Job description

Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the utilities sector for Meter Readers. No prior experience is necessary – full training, equipment, and a company vehicle will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long‑term career in the utilities sector. You’ll be working across the local water network in the North London region, visiting customer properties to read water meters. You will upload the data via a company‑issued tablet.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and input meter readings using handheld devices, tablets, or manual log sheets.
• Verify meter identification numbers to ensure data is assigned to the correct customer account.
• Inspect meters and associated equipment for signs of damage, tampering, or malfunction.
• Report irregular readings or suspected faults to supervisors or technical teams for investigation.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of meter reading rounds.
• Submit daily or weekly reports on readings, route completion, and any issues encountered.

Customer Interaction

Engage professionally with customers, explaining the purpose of visits and addressing basic inquiries.

Gain safe access to properties while maintaining professionalism, respect, and confidentiality.
