Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Reading is seeking a MET Technician to join our automotive repair team. The role covers mechanical, electrical and trim work during vehicle repairs, with a basic salary of £45,000-£50,000 and an OTE of £55,000+.

It is a full-time, permanent position with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm. You will remove, refit and replace components, perform strip-down and rebuild work, and ensure accurate reassembly following accident repairs.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim.
• Experience as an MET Technician or strip fitter in an automotive repair environment.
• Ability to identify damaged parts and communicate repair requirements.

Responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Carry out vehicle strip-down and rebuild work.
• Identify damaged components and report repair needs.
• Ensure correct fitting and reassembly of vehicle systems.
• Work with other technicians to support efficient repairs.
• Follow repair procedures and health and safety rules.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and high workmanship standards.
