Job summary

A recruitment agency in the UK is seeking an experienced MET Technician for a full-time position with a salary ranging from £16 to £21 per hour based on experience. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in ATA/NVQ/IMI or City & Guilds and a valid driving licence. Responsibilities include stripping and refitting vehicles, conducting diagnostic checks, and carrying out wheel alignment. This role operates Monday to Friday, and no weekends are required, along with additional company benefits.

Qualifications

  • ATA/NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualified MET Technician.
  • Full valid driving licence required.
  • Previous experience in an accident repair centre or with commercial vehicles is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in stripping and refitting various makes and models of vehicles.
  • Carry out diagnostic checks on vehicles.
  • Perform geometry wheel alignment.
  • Execute suspension and mechanical duties.
  • Stripping and fitting vehicles before and after paint.
  • Repairing and replacing steering racks.

MET Technician Required
  • Full Time / permanent
  • Basic salary £16 - £21 per hour. (Dependant on experience)
  • 45 hour contracts available
  • Monday – Friday
  • NO Weekends

Key Responsibilities of an MET Technician :
  • Must have experience in stripping and refitting a variety of makes and models of vehicle
  • Carry out diagnostic checks on vehicles.
  • Geometry Wheel Alignment.
  • Suspension and mechanical duties.
  • Stripping and Fitting Vehicles before and after paint.
  • Stripping and Fitting bumpers and doors.
  • Repairing interior Plastics and Seats.
  • Repairing Exterior Plastics.
  • Repairing and replacing steering racks
  • Repairing Windscreens - desirable but not essential
  • Repairing, stripping and fitting dashboards.
  • Dealing with wiring throughout the car.
  • Installing and Calibrating ADAS equipment - desirable but not essential
Requirements of an MET Technician
  • ATA / NVQ / IMI / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualified MET Technician or time severed within an MET Technician role.
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Previous experience of working within an accident repair centre or with commercial vehicles is essential.
