Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting an MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) for a full-time role in Southall, Middlesex. You will remove, refit and replace mechanical, electrical and trim components during vehicle repairs, ensuring correct reassembly and high-quality workmanship.

The position offers £55,000–£58,000 basic salary with an OTE £68,000–£72,000 through the company bonus structure. Working Mon-Fri, 8:00am–5:30pm with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Experience as MET Technician or similar in automotive repair environment.
• Ability to remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Good understanding of vehicle systems and reassembly procedures.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.
• Reliable, organized and able to work independently or in a team.

• Identifying damaged components and reporting additional repair requirements.

THE ROLE

As an MET Technician, you'll be responsible for removing, refitting and replacing mechanical, electrical and trim components during vehicle repairs. You'll play an important role in ensuring vehicles are correctly reassembled and meet the required repair and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Carrying out vehicle strip-down and rebuild work.
• Identifying damaged components and reporting additional repair requirements.
• Ensuring components are fitted correctly and vehicle systems are accurately reassembled.
• Working alongside other technicians to support an efficient repair process.Following appropriate repair procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and workshop organisation.

ABOUT YOU

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent), with an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience as an MET Technician, Mechanical and Electrical Technician or Strip Fitter within an automotive repair environment.
• Confident removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Good understanding of vehicle systems, component fitting and reassembly procedures.
• Able to identify damaged parts and communicate additional repair requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality work.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
