Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Crewe seeks an experienced Functional Consultant to implement MES solutions for automotive manufacturing. You will gather requirements, design and configure MES modules, and ensure seamless ERP/PLM integration.

The role involves training users, creating documentation, and providing ongoing MES support. On-site in Crewe is required three days a week, with opportunities to work within Capgemini's global MES practice.

We are seeking an experienced Functional Consultant specializing in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for the automotive industry. The ideal candidate have experience using SAP DM (or ME) and will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring optimal implementation and utilization of MES in automotive manufacturing environments.

In this role you will play key role in:

• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders in the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Design and configure MES solutions tailored to automotive production needs.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proper integration of MES with other systems (ERP, PLM, etc.).
• Develop and maintain functional specifications for MES modules and customizations.
• Conduct user training sessions and create documentation for MES usage.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for MES-related issues.
• Ensure MES compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Your profile

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience as a Functional Consultant in MES implementation, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and industry-specific challenges.
• Expertise in one or more major MES platforms, preferably SAP DM.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Certifications in MES platforms or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Experience with Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies.
• Knowledge of quality management systems in automotive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISA95 and MESA standards.
