Job summary

MERKUR Casino UK is hiring a Keyholder in Oxford to join our market-leading venue. This 40-hour per week role pays £13.60–£15.10 per hour, with a night rate of £15.10 from 23:00–06:00, and involves opening, closing, and ensuring venue standards.

You will deliver first-class service, supervise on shifts, handle cash, support training, and help maintain high standards and customer delight. Previous experience in retail, hospitality or gambling is preferred, with weekend and bank holiday

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, hospitality or gambling is preferred.
• Must be willing to learn and train others.
• Ability to be a role model and support a team.
• Prior cash handling experience is desirable.
• Industry compliance training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Open, trade, and close the venue when the Venue/Assistant Manager is not on duty.
• Keep the venue clean and presentable, including gaming equipment and floors.
• Issue change and manage float according to procedures.
• Assist with bingo, catering or other duties as required by management.
• Payouts for machine faults when authorised by management.
• Monitor customer behaviour and report suspicious activity.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with administration to maintain high accuracy.
• Support promotions and ensure customer service meets company standards.

Duties include but not limited to:

• To take full responsibility for the opening, trading and closure of the venue in theabsence of the Venue Manager/ Assistant Manager.
• To ensure that the venue housekeeping is always of the highest possible standard, regularly cleaning gaming equipment, floors, walls and other surfaces.
• To issue customers with change as required and to control any personal float allocated, in accordance with company procedures.
• To assist with bingo, catering or any other duties as required or directed by the Venue/Duty Manager.
• To payout for machine faults in line with Company procedures when authorised to do so by the Venue/Duty Manager.
• To monitor the actions and behaviour of customers, noting any behaviour considered to be suspicious and/or disruptive to the smooth operation of the venue and reporting this behaviour to the Venue Manager.
• To ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to, reporting any potential hazards to the Venue Manager.
• To assist with any administration as required to 100% accuracy.
• To help ensure that promotions run smoothly and are a success.
• To ensure that customer service is carried out in line with company standards and results in “customer delight”.
• To ensure that customer complaints are brought to the attention of a member of management as quickly as possible.
• To maintain a high standard of personal presentation ensuring the Company’s dress code is always adhered to.
• To promote awareness of Responsible Gambling strategies and procedures.
