Overview
The HBO Max, Partnership Merchandising Specialist is responsible for maximizing the full potential of content HBO Max content offering with focus on the various Ingest Partner experiences. This role reports to the EMEA VP Merchandising. Please note — this is a fixed-term contract position, initially for 12 months.
Responsibilities
Operational
- Responsible for initial framework set-up of each new Ingest partner based on limitations, features and functionalities specific to the given partner's platform.
- Together with the other Partnership Specialist the main POCs for the respective Partners' team for operational issues, communications, updates.
- Responsible for executing day-to-day operations of Homepage in the partner's own back-end system [trainings to be provided].
- Main POC between EMEA Merchandising team (and specifically the local Merch of the market relevant for the partner) and the partners, ensuring feedback from the local market is incorporated in planning and implementation.
- Power user of Site Builder (our Content Management System) and the relevant partner's back end once trained.
- Power user of tools and algorithms to automate and personalize content delivery based on impression goals and audience behaviour, based on partner platform limitations and functionalities.
- Deal with automated curations and leverage recommendation engines to enhance personalization.
- Collaborate with Merchandising Analysis & Insights team to receive the right data to inform merchandising decisions.
- Partner with the campaigns team to collaborate on strategy and implement locally; supports the campaign within their page experience.
- Support other merchandising team members on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and ensuring high priority impact issues are followed through by the correct teams and solved in a timely manner.
Strategy
- Adapts Global and EMEA Merchandising strategies with an eye to make it relevant to local audiences and features, functionalities and limitations of the partners' platform and local market.
- Contributes to the tagging process in coordination with the broader merchandising team.
- Cooperates on strategy for all LOP and Local Acquisitions to reflect priorities for the given market and given partner.
- Acts as a Merchandising primary point of contact for the relevant stakeholders from Operations, Marketing and Partnership teams.
- Leverages merchandising strategies to improve content discoverability, minutes/impression, impression efficiency, content diversity, and other relevant KPIs that improve engagement/retention of subscribers and the performance of content on HBO Max.
- Uses data to drive decisions; shares actionable insights and recommendations with the Global Merchandising team as well as other stakeholders.
- Stays in sync and connected to the pulse of the market to leverage zeitgeist moments into content discovery opportunities.
- Contributes to overall strategy through cross-team collaboration, sharing successful curation strategies that can be used outside their primary page.
- Contribute to tooling improvements and workflow efficiencies.
Qualifications / Key Attributes
- Passionate about all things content: Expert knowledge of local content, deep familiarity with WBD's catalogue, strong familiarity with competitor's content generally.
- Data-Driven: Comfortable analysing data and using it to optimize our work: level of effort vs consumer impact. Demonstrated evidence of implementing shifts in strategy based on quantitative evidence, working command of evolving performance metrics.

- Operational Excellence: Relentless pursuit of operations and work-flow efficiency; proficiency in digital merchandising operations and workflows with a commanding knowledge of various merchandising tools and CMSs; ability to quickly learn, assimilate, and train others on new processes and product innovations; high self-initiative with the ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.

Onsite Working — This role is advertised as Onsite; all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to applicable laws, WBD / the Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
