Job description

Hi, we’re Bloom & Wild. We don’t just send flowers. We help our customers to care wildly. Caring wildly is celebrating the little things we all do for each other every day. Not just the big occasions. It’s being there for the highs. Stepping up for the lows.

We care wildly about people and our planet. Which is why we’re so proud to be a certified B Corp™ – committed to making long-term positive change for our community, and the world around us.

Founded in 2013, our mission back then was to make sending and receiving flowers the joy that it should be, by harnessing technology, brand and letterbox delivery. We announced £75 million Series D funding in 2021 and that same year acquired bloomon in The Netherlands and Bergamotte in France. Together, we’ve fulfilled and delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.

Now home to a family of 3 beautiful brands, we’re driven by our vision to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination.

The Commercial Team @ Bloom & Wild Group

Our merchandising function has recently moved within the commercial team. Our commercial team works cross-functionally with many departments in our company, with a focus on delivering ambitious growth across all of our markets and brands. We focus on our revenue and profit, but maintain a long term, and customer centric focus in everything we do.

This may sound like a cliche, but we really are a bunch of fast-thinking problem-solvers. Our Slack channels are full of problem solving and knowledge sharing threads as we work together on our shared mission. We know where we’re headed, and we’re all ready to jump in to support each other to get there.

We’re a distributed team, with team members across the UK and Europe! We work almost all other functions across the business, so we’re really proud of our ability to collaborate effectively and are always looking for ways to connect and work together; making use of both our virtual tools and our lovely offices. We try to come together as a full team once a year in either London or Amsterdam for a team offsite, and throughout the rest of the year we gather in our respective country teams as frequently as we can!

What you’ll be doing

This role is responsible for the ‘shop window’ of our site, ensuring that products are set live accurately and on time and merchandised to customers in inspiring and user-friendly ways. You’ll sit within our Commercial team and report to our Head of Commercial UK Sam. You’ll work closely with many other teams in our business including Range, Creative, Forecasting, Central Operations Planning and more.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will fall into 3 key areas:

Product Launches

ensuring all products for Bloom & Wild brand are launched onto the website in an accurate and timely manner:

  • Kick off the product site launch process by setting up production codes for forecasting & planning
  • Create SKUs in our backend system, upload all product information using assets provided to you (eg product timings, imagery, product descriptions)
  • Complete a pre-launch checklist, confirming that all stock is where it should be, and all other dependencies are aligned before going live.
Navigational Merchandising

planning and overseeing the navigational elements of our website such as navs, product grids, content cards and more:

  • Create merchandising plans which help our customers to navigate our product range, creating plans for seasons (eg summer) and peaks (eg Mother’s Day)
  • Align your plans with key stakeholders (such as Commercial & Range teams) and then setting up in a timely manner
  • Helping to investigate when elements of our website don’t behave as intended.
Site optimisation

Once products are live, you’ll help ensure our site is optimised for customer experience and commercial performance. This is the area of the role where over time, you can have the most impact, and make this role your own!

  • Supporting on scoping and setting up merchandising AB tests, to help optimise our websites and apps
  • Making live optimisations based on site data to help boost trading, respond to customer behaviour or drive awareness of certain products or categories
  • Swiftly respond to site requests for on-site raised by other teams, especially over our peak periods.
Qualifications

You’ll love this role if you…

  • Have 1-2 years’ experience working – ideally in a fast-paced data driven working environment
  • Process improvement: You love finding ways to make processes more efficient, and have explored using AI tools
  • You care about the detail – you’re methodical and precise and deliver to a consistently high standard
  • Organised – you take a thoughtful approach to planning and prioritising your work
  • Stakeholder management – you love to collaborate, and are at your best when working cross functionally with other teams
  • Analytical – and excited about problem solving
  • Customer empathy – you put customers first, seek to understand what works for them and champion them in your decision making to develop products they love. You’re motivated by this above all else.
  • Proactive – you take responsibility to get things done and are willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in yourself whenever needed
  • Positive attitude – you’re excited about problem solving with others in a fun and dynamic team.

These are some of the skills and experience we think will enable success in this role, but please don’t worry if you are missing some of these. We’re committed to building a team made up of different strengths, skills and experiences, so if you’re excited about our values, passionate about what you do and would like to join us in doing things more thoughtfully, we’d love to hear from you.
