Job description

The Merchandise Assistant will support the Merchandiser in achieving departmental sales, markdown, stock, intake, and profit plans, and will substitute for the Assistant Merchandiser in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Book in product as directed by the merchandiser.
  • Liaise and be the first point of contact with the warehouse on delivery issues and problem orders.
  • Update supplier order books and ETA reports on the system.
  • Reconcile supplier order books and communicate all anomalies.
  • Action store IBTs in conjunction with the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Action fast track IBTs in conjunction with the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Collate and check price amendments.
  • Cost and retail checks on orders booked into the warehouse in conjunction with the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Collate and assist in building accurate ratio history.
  • Chase free-stocks as directed by the buyer.
  • Develop awareness of product area through analysis of reports and store visits.
  • Ad-hoc reports and analysis for the team as required.
  • Creating and Amending Distros’ for key launches to be signed off by key stakeholders.
  • Using Range plan to schedule orders and make informed decisions based on newness/intake when looking at Branch Merch.
Teamwork
  • Reporting to the Merchandiser.
  • Working with the Merchandising Team.
  • Develop relationships with Buyers, suppliers, Stores, Visual, Finance, Web and Marketing as appropriate.
  • Deputising for the Assistant Merchandiser in their absence.
The Candidate
  • Analytical and passionate about numbers.
  • Systems-driven, proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Positive, flexible, and able to work at a fast pace.
  • Initiative and responsibility, taking ownership of your work and using your initiative to deliver.
  • Experience in a Fashion Merchandising role would be beneficial.
