We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) team at Mercer who will report to the Mercer Commercial Leader for Hong Kong as well as MMB Leader for Hong Kong and Macau. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
(1) Leadership & People Management:
- Lead and take ownership of recruitment, coaching, and development the Hong Kong MMB sales team
- Overall responsibility for new business revenue targets for MMB Hong Kong with collaboration with Mercer Commercial Leader and MMB Leader Hong Kong and Macau as required.
(2) Business Development:
- Deliver and exceed annual new business targets applicable to MMB in Hong Kong
- Personally lead pursuit of strategic, high-value prospects while overseeing the full team pipeline.
- Work with the Mercer Commercial Leader to leverage cross-Mercer opportunities and ensure unified client planning.
- Work with the MMB Leader Hong Kong and Macau on solution design, pricing discipline, internal coordination, and thought-leadership positioning.
- Identify and review expansion opportunities within MMB Hong Kong (i.e. growth in revenue, expand line of insurances).
- Support MMB Leader and other senior representatives within MMB Hong Kong to enhance the performance of additional revenue from existing clients (i.e. Expansion revenue) through the supporting of various initiatives and educational sessions as required.
- Where necessary the MMB Sales Leader will be required to support specific client activities where directed by the MMB Leader.
(3) Pipeline Management, Governance & Reporting
- Take ownership and of the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all opportunity data in MPower for the Hong Kong MMB sales team.
- Enforce disciplined use of MPower by the team, including regular pipeline reviews, pipeline progression, win/loss analysis, and data hygiene.
- Produce and present accurate monthly and quarterly sales reports/dashboards to the Mercer Commercial Leader Hong Kong, MMB Leader Hong Kong, and Asia MMB Sales Leadership, covering key metrics.
- Prepare ad-hoc data extracts and analyses as required by local, regional or global leadership teams.
(4) Client & Market Engagement
- Act as a senior MMB ambassador in the market, strengthening relationships with brokers, insurers, and HR decision-makers.
- Collaborate with Marsh Hong Kong colleagues on cross selling opportunities.
- Provide regular market intelligence and competitor insights to both reporting managers.
(5) Strategy & Matrix Collaboration
- Oversee and develop MMB Sales Strategy for Hong Kong, in partnership with the MMB Leader for Hong Kong and Macau
- Contribute to the overall Mercer Hong Kong growth strategy under the guidance of the Mercer Commercial Leader.
- Align MMB-specific go-to-market initiatives and capability development with the MMB Leader for Hong Kong and Macau.
- Participate the MMB Asia Sales Leadership community as required e.g. Representing MMB Hong Kong in MMB Asia sales leadership calls and conferences as required.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 10–15+ years of employee benefits brokerage or consulting sales experience in Hong Kong.
- Holder of relevant Hong Kong insurance licenses (Paper I, II, III preferred).
- Proven personal and team track record of winning large, complex new business.
- Established senior-level network among Hong Kong HR, reward, and procurement leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in matrix environments and enforce CRM discipline.
- Deep knowledge of Hong Kong group medical, life, disability, wellness, and flex programs.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin highly advantageous.
