About The Vans Undergraduate Programme

We are looking for four motivated and dynamic undergraduate students to join the Mercedes-Benz Vans 13‑month Undergraduate Placement Programme. This opportunity is ideal for commercially minded second‑year university students who want to gain real‑world experience. You’ll apply your commercial insight, analytical ability and interpersonal skills, developing communication, customer focus and confidence, while working on meaningful projects that make an impact.

Managing Directors Office of Mercedes-Benz UK (Vans)

In this placement you’ll gain hands‑on experience in the fields of project management, event coordination and business process review. The successful candidate will gain insight into executive‑level operations within a fast‑paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Assistant with day‑to‑day administrative and strategic tasks.
  • Assist with the planning, coordinating and delivering of internal and external events.
  • Support with milestone tracking for van‑dedicated and cross‑functional projects through the Project Management Office.
  • Aid with the reviewing and updating of business processes, in‑line with ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external parties to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Customer Service & Parts

In this placement, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in customer service and parts management, supporting pricing strategy, market analysis and dealer network activities. You’ll also assist with webinars, reporting and strategy meetings, gaining insight into a dynamic, customer‑focused business environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Strategic Development Manager for Parts in developing and implementing local parts pricing strategy.
  • Support in competitive environment analysis and definition of measures to drive growth in the parts business.
  • Support our Dealer network with queries around system or campaign implementation issues.
  • Support the wider CSP team with organising webinars, dealer visits or presentations. Work with the insights team to ensure parts and service contracts reporting requirements are met.
  • Inclusion in Customer Services strategy and operational meetings.
Product Management

This placement will provide hands‑on experience in the fields of portfolio management, launch management and market insights. By working with both the Product Executive and Senior Product Manager, you’ll gain an in‑depth understanding of the vital role of product management within a business and develop your data analysis and problem‑solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the system set‑up of newly launching vehicles.
  • Support with the briefing and proofing of product marketing materials.
  • Monitor competitor activity and report findings.
  • Review vehicle data, checking for accuracy and raising awareness of data changes.
  • Assist with the creation of quarterly reports and ad‑hoc product presentations.
Sales

In this placement, you will step into the fast‑paced world of national sales supporting the whole Mercedes‑Benz Vans Sales team. Whether focusing on retail sales, corporate sales, inventory planning or reporting, you will support and gain insight into the operational and strategic outputs that facilitate our annual target achievements and drive our business forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of national sales programmes and performance reporting.
  • Analyse vehicles sales data, market trends and Dealer performance metrics.
  • Aid with communication between Head Office and the Dealer network, including the embedding of programmes and campaigns.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional projects including Marketing, Product Management and Finance and Controlling.
