Candidates should have A proven track record within the construction industry in a MEP role, with a minimum of 5 years' experience and a recognised qualification in a relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute with strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to negotiate and influence.

Main duties will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of tender enquiries and submissions in relation to MEP sub-contract packages as part of Mivan's interior fit out tenders.
  • Represent Mivan as their MEP specialist, at pre-tender and post tender meetings with the Client's team.
  • On contract award, lead the selection and procurement of MEP sub-contractors and consultants in conjunction with the Project Manager & Quantity Surveyor.
  • Lead in the production of MEP project programmes (Design, Pre-construction, Drawing Production, Procurement, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, Handover and Practical Completion).
  • Ensure Mivan's contractual responsibilities with respect to MEP services are fulfilled.
  • Play an active role in the preparation, integration and tracking of the MEP works in Mivan's detailed fit out programmes.
  • Manage the M&E installation works, carried out by Mivan sub-contractors or direct labour, on sites ensuring all Company Operational and SHEQ Management Procedures are implemented.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team, in relation to MEP works being carried out as part of Mivan's full fit out scope of works or the co-ordination of Mivan's fit out work with interfacing MEP contractors.
  • Ensure that all installation activities are carried out in accordance with relevant H&S, quality and environmental procedures and all appropriate legislation or building regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with our MEP supply chain including contractors and suppliers - regularly reviewing their performance on site and implementing appropriate action, as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, anticipate and resolve any MEP related issues arising with the contract or package of works, identifying risks and facilitating their resolution.
  • Assist with commercial aspects of the contract in relation to MEP, including negotiation, agreement of contract sum and assist the project surveyor with agreeing monthly valuations.
  • Conduct site Inspections to verify that MEP installations meet quality standards and resolve any concerns identified.
  • Manage commissioning and handover documentation as required.
  • Actively develop relationships with clients, architects, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain all project paperwork in an appropriate manner.
  • Undertake any other duties within the job holder's sphere of knowledge, experience or competency as requested.
