Job summary

COLEMAN JAMES LTD in London is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to help lead delivery across Healthcare, Residential Regeneration, Schools and Data Centre projects. The role supports Senior Technical Managers and Design Managers from prequalification to completion, generally at RIBA stages 3–6/BSRIA BG6 stages 3–7.

You will build strong relationships with MEP Consultants, BIM Coordinators and CDP Specialists, perform design reviews, approve plant/equipment selections, and drive value

Qualifications

• Experience within the design department of MEP Consultancy or Main/MEP Contractor.
• Knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work/BSRIA BG6 principles.
• Experience with MEP materials, systems, methods and technology.

Responsibilities

• Build/lead effective relationships with MEP Consultants, BIM Coordinators and CDP Specialists to maximise value and mitigate risk.
• Undertake technical reviews of designs to ensure best value compliant designs.
• Approve plant and equipment selections and CDP sub-contractor designs.
• Develop value engineering and value management proposals.
• Provide troubleshooting support to significant technical and commissioning issues.

Our client is world leading construction and engineering company who are looking for a MEP Design Manager to join their team in London. Projects are based in London and the Southeast and cover various sectors including Healthcare, Residential Regeneration, Schools and Data Centres. In this position you will support the Senior Technical Managers & Design Managers to help them deliver design & technical information on a bid or project; from prequalification to completion (generally, but not limited to, the RIBA Plan of Work Stages 3 to 6/BSRIA BG6 Stages 3-7).
