Job description
Overview

Jamis mental health services are strengthened by a passionate community of volunteers. As part of our strategy to expand volunteering, we are seeking a Mental Health Volunteering Coordinator to play a central role in this growth. Working closely with service managers, the central volunteering team, and colleagues across Jami, you will develop and embed volunteering roles, promote best practice, and ensure volunteers feel valued and supported. You will think creatively about how volunteering can safely and effectively support people using our services. Based at our Finchley Hub, this part-time, onsite role combines relationship-building, coordination, training, data, and hands-on support across Jami services. This is a part-time, onsite role for 22.5 hours per week (Tuesday Thursday), with support across other Jami resources when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will support volunteer recruitment, develop and coordinate role descriptions, and promote opportunities through community organisations, colleges, and fairs.
  • You will co-create and deliver volunteering projects, support role managers with training and supervision, and promote best practice in volunteer management.
  • You will maintain accurate records, carry out reviews, monitor outcomes, and act as a central point of contact for volunteering advice.
  • You will organise events, facilitate workshops, build positive relationships with volunteers, colleagues, and service users, and provide hands-on support across Jami resources as needed.
About You
  • We seek an organised, empathetic, proactive individual with experience managing volunteers, working with vulnerable people, and knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Strong IT, administrative, and communication skills, plus the ability to manage priorities and work collaboratively, are essential.
  • Desirable: degree-level education, volunteer management training, group facilitation, mental health experience, and familiarity with the Jewish community.
