Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join the team at Kingswood House, a specialist community-based service with nursing for people with a learning disability and those who have autism. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to change lives for the better, while also developing your own specialist skills and making a real difference for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you will be responsible for providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. You will also be involved in mentoring and supporting team members, observing and reporting on service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided.

Job responsibilities

You must have completed your Preceptorship (with evidence) to be considered for this position.

As a qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you will care for people with a learning disability and those who have autism, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members
  • Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided

A specialist community-based service with nursing for people with a learning disability and those who have autism. Kingswood House is part of our learning disability and autism division and is a registered care service with nursing which embraces and balances the management of risk with comfort, homeliness, dignity, respect, and choice. The service is for individuals with a learning disability, people who have autism or those with sensory and communication impairments. We are specialists in working with complex needs and behaviours which challenge services.
