Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency is seeking a Band 6 Staff Nurse (Prisons) RMN to provide mental health interventions to service users at HMP Hewell, Redditch. The role requires managing a caseload and conducting assessments within a prison setting. Candidates must possess Prison Clearance and a valid Driving Licence. This position offers full-time hours and is expected to start as soon as possible for a duration of 12 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification required.

  • Band 6, Staff Nurse (Prisons) RMN
  • Full Time
  • Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
  • MUST HAVE Prison Clearance
  • Driving Licence
  • Start as soon as possible for 12 weeks.
  • Location: HMP Hewell, Redditch
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provision of mental health interventions to Service Users within the prison establishment across wellbeing, primary and secondary mental health.

  • This will involve being responsible for managing their own caseload, including assessments, care planning, delivering interventions and reviewing care of patients located within the prison with a mental illness, within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach.
  • To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based interventions required including health promotion within a prison environment.
  • To provide a nursing service to prisoners taking account of cultural and spiritual beliefs/needs.
  • To be responsible for the appropriate risk assessment of service users, providing effective advice, guidance and decision making process.
  • Responsible for coordinating the care and assessment under the care coordination approach.
  • To ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatment including the custody storage and administration of drugs.

Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including auditing, monitoring and reviewing of clinical practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
