Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our primary care team at Gatwick IRC, located in Gatwick.

Hours: The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns. Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. Flexible to do day and night shifts.

Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £50,076 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
  • Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a caseload of patients
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders

Requirements
  • NMC Registered Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nurse
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
  • Experience of working with learning disability patients
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
