Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our primary care team at Gatwick IRC, located in Gatwick.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns. Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Flexible to do day and night shifts.

Salary

This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £50,076 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
  • Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a caseload of patients
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders

Requirements
  • NMC Registered Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nurse
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
  • Experience of working with learning disability patients
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
