Mental Health Assistant - Didcot, Oxfordshire

Are you passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing? This could be a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive school environment.

A welcoming primary school in Didcot is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.

The Role

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will support pupils who may experience Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma-related behaviours and SEMH needs.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
  • Supporting therapeutic and trauma-informed strategies.
