Job Summary

Pendle West Community Mental Health Team – Band 5 – Bases: Pendle House and Yarnspinners Health Centre. This post offers the opportunity for a forward‑thinking, experienced practitioner to develop and implement safe, sound, and supportive services that embrace holistic care, multidisciplinary working, and the principles of the Recovery Model.

Main duties of the job
  • Co‑ordinate care as a key worker alongside service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary team members, supporting collaborative decision‑making about care and treatment.
  • Deliver wellbeing‑focused, psychologically‑informed interventions aligned to cognitive‑behavioural principles, based on the best evidence available, addressing issues often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.

Person Specification
  • Qualifications (essential)
    • Registered as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner on an NHS‑recognised professional register.
    • Graduate certificate (Level 6) or postgraduate certificate (Level 7) delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners (Adult Specialist Mental Health).
  • Knowledge (essential)
    • Able to plan and deliver interventions with a variety of service users presenting with mental health difficulties, their families and carers, and the clinical team, on a daily basis.
    • Able to establish and maintain empathic, supportive relationships with people in significant distress or who are cognitively impaired, and with their families and carers.
    • Able to receive, understand and communicate confidential client information of a sensitive and often complex nature, including discussing care with family members within confidentiality boundaries.
  • Experience (essential)
    • Experience of working with people with mental health needs gained through graduate or postgraduate certification with significant supervised practice.
    • Experience running groups or activities.
    • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
