Job summary

JD Sports Fashion plc in Hollins, UK, is seeking a Buyer to join our Buying team. You will represent the Buying function on relevant fascia and category, attend product launches throughout the year, attend trade shows, and drive sales through range selection and performance reviews.

Responsibilities include budget and OTB management, terms negotiations with brands, and presenting ranges for sign-off with seniorBuyers and Directors. A creative, trend-led, independent working style is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of buying branded goods is essential.
• Experience of buying sports fashion advantageous.
• Strong understanding of current and upcoming sports fashion trends.
• Analytical and numerical skills are essential.
• Fully literate in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
• Organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Buying function on relevant fascia and category.
• Attend appointments, involved in selection and editing of product.
• Attend product launches and relevant trade shows.
• Analyze weekly sales with merchandising to drive actions.
• Negotiate with brands re trading terms and conditions.
• Identify new brands and opportunities to diversify and drive sales.
• Budget negotiation and planning within internal teams and brands.
• Coordinate distribution agreements and OTB on seasons and forward budgets.
• Present ranges for sign-off with Senior Buyers and Directors.
• Prepare and present performance in trade meetings.
