Qualifications

About the role

Mednet Health is seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Writer with agency experience to join our growing team. You’ll bring strong scientific writing expertise, a broad understanding of multiple therapeutic areas, and hands‑on experience developing medical education and promotional materials for pharmaceutical clients.

As part of a talented and collaborative team, you’ll work closely with account leads and creatives to shape scientific narratives, develop content, and support strategic thinking across programmes. You’ll be supported by colleagues who are committed to helping you grow and develop, while also being trusted to take ownership of projects and contribute confidently to strategic decisions.

This role is ideal for a medical writer who enjoys transforming complex scientific information into clear, impactful, and compliant content across multiple formats. Your scientific insight and writing expertise will help shape strategy, elevate positioning, and deliver solutions that truly make a difference in healthcare.

Key responsibilities
  • Create high-quality, scientifically accurate, and engaging content across a wide range of deliverables, including medical education, promotional and congress materials, both print and digital
  • Translate complex scientific data into clear, impactful communications tailored to diverse audiences
  • Act as a scientific lead across key accounts, offering insights into new therapy areas and supporting the strategic development of existing ones
  • Provide expert scientific guidance to clients and internal teams, helping shape strategy and enhance project value
  • Lead client communications and contribute to meetings, workshops, advisory boards and pitches
  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually engaging and medically accurate assets
  • Ensure all content adheres to editorial standards, compliance codes, and industry regulations
  • Mentor and support junior writers, offering editorial oversight and fostering professional development
  • Manage multiple priorities and complex projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong organisational and project management skills
  • Act as an ambassador for Mednet Health, contributing to a positive team culture and upholding our agency values
Essential criteria
  • A strong degree in a life science or medical discipline; MSc or PhD preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a medical writer in a healthcare communications agency or pharmaceutical environment
  • Expertise in medical writing across multiple therapeutic areas, ideally including oncology, immunology and haematology
  • A proven ability to interpret scientific data and translate it into clear, accurate and engaging content across different media and formats
  • A strategic mindset with a good understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and positioning
  • Experience developing tailored, audience-appropriate content for HCPs, patients, internal stakeholders, and other audiences across various channels and formats
  • Confidence in contributing scientific input to client pitches, workshops, and strategic discussions, including content ideation and message development
  • A collaborative mindset, with experience working closely with account teams, designers, and other writers in an agency environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and depth for different scientific, patient, and client audiences
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of editorial standards, referencing, and compliance requirements in medical communications
  • A proactive, intellectually curious, and solutions-focused attitude with a willingness to challenge ideas and explore new approaches
