Job summary

Gilbert Inglefield Academy is seeking a Medical Welfare Officer to oversee the health, safety and medical wellbeing of pupils. The role includes managing the Medical Room, coordinating vaccination programmes and maintaining individual health care plans to ensure timely care.

You will be the main point of contact for student health, providing immediate first aid and working with safeguarding requirements. The post is permanent, full-time (37 hours/week) with term-time plus 5 training days.

Qualifications

  • Background in nursing or first aid required.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check and safeguarding processes.
  • Experience in health management within an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee health, safety and medical wellbeing of pupils.
  • Manage the daily operation of the Medical Room and respond to medical needs.
  • Coordinate vaccination programs and maintain student health care plans.
  • Provide immediate first aid and act as a safeguarding-focused point of contact.

Actual Salary: NJC L4 pts 9-14 £24,470 - £26,523 per annum

Are you a compassionate, organised individual with a background in nursing or first aid? Gilbert Inglefield Academy is seeking a dedicated Medical Welfare Officer to oversee the health, safety, and medical wellbeing of our pupils.

In this vital role, you will be the main point of contact for student health care within the school. You will manage the daily running of the Medical Room, handle complex medical needs, coordinate vaccination programs, maintain student health care plans, and provide immediate first aid care when required.
