Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in Greater London seeks a skilled laboratory scientist to perform specialist neuroimmunology techniques. Responsibilities include evaluating new lab techniques, training staff, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and be state registered. Experience in NHS Diagnostic Laboratories and technical analysis is essential. Salary ranges from £37,259 to £45,356 annually, inclusive of HCAS.

Main duties
  • Perform specialist techniques in the neuroimmunology and CSF laboratory.
  • Have experience in a neuroimmunology, biochemistry or immunology diagnostic or research laboratory.
  • Perform additional role duties in the team.
  • Aide the evaluation of new complex laboratory techniques and tests.
  • Train other staff in the team when requested.
  • Meet the service requirements and turnaround times of the Department.
  • Undertake analytical, technical, quality management and administrative troubleshooting while maintaining adequate supplies of reagents and consumables in accordance with ISO 15189:2022.

Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Biological / Biomedical/Biochemical Science Degree, Neuroscience or equivalent
  • State Registered with HCPC (BMS or clinical scientist)
Experience
