Job Overview

Expressions of interest are sought for the role of MTO/Trainee Healthcare Scientist (Band 5) in the NHS Neuroimmunology & CSF Laboratory based at the world renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square London (part of UCLH). This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual with opportunities to take part in translational R&D.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specialist procedures in accordance with departmental SOPs.
  • Participate in departmental regular updates, audits, and take on additional duties as required.
  • Support specialised method development.
  • Train other staff in the team on request.
  • Meet service requirements and turnaround times of the Department.
  • Undertake analytical, technical, quality management and administrative troubleshooting.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of reagents and consumables to ensure reliable service delivery in accordance with ISO 15189:2022.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Band 5 scientist capable of carrying out specialist techniques.
  • Experience in a Neuroimmunology/biochemistry or immunology diagnostic or research laboratory.
  • Highly developed manual skills and a strong interest in evaluating new complex laboratory techniques and tests.
  • Willingness to perform additional role duties within the team.
