Responsibilities

  • Support medical secretaries, consultants, clinicians and team managers.
  • Provide secretarial duties and coordinate information dissemination.
  • Deal courteously with telephone calls from service users and health professionals.
  • Minute MDT ward rounds.
  • Audio-type and type medical and other correspondence.
  • Action requirements identified in minutes/typing.
  • Coordinate clinical activities for all South Manchester inpatient wards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 3 Medical Support Secretary (30 hours per week) to work with the Inpatient South Manchester Team. We are seeking an admin support secretary with a can‑do attitude who enjoys working in a large team and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high‑quality administration support in an efficient and timely manner.

Please note: This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work with initiative and sometimes under pressure.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Responsibilities
  • Support medical secretaries, consultants, clinicians and team managers in the smooth running of the Admin Services.
  • Work directly with the consultant, providing secretarial duties and coordinating and facilitating the dissemination of information to and from the team.
  • Deal efficiently, precisely and courteously with telephone calls from service users and health professionals.
  • Minute MDT ward rounds.
  • Audio‑type and type medical and other correspondence.
  • Action any requirements identified in minutes/typing.
  • Coordinate clinical activities for all South Manchester inpatient wards in Laureate House.
