An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Staffing/Recruitment Manager to join St Paul's Ophthalmology Division at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role will be based at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital site with requirements to work at Aintree University Hospital as required.

Responsible for 24 hours medical staff cover St Paul's Ophthalmology Division and out of hours.
Cover for related disciplines participating in the Ophthalmology Rota -- in line with the New Dealand European Working Time Directives for Junior Doctors Hours, including booking of locums and organising authorisation of payments for same.
Management of the monitoring of all Junior Doctors Hours to ensure compliance to the NewDeal and European Working Time Directive's and completion of monthly reports for HumanResources/Medical Staffing Departments.
Management of sickness for all medical staff including back to work interview.
Responsible for the preparation, planning production and distribution of medical rotas.
Oversee the booking of leave.
Maintain personal files.

Liaise with Temporary Staffing, to ensure appropriate locum cover is available for any absences.
Check CVs of agency locums and seek Consultant approval, prior to confirming bookings. Notify related disciplines of any sickness absence of their staff and whether locum cover was required.
Ensure arrangements in place to coordinate consultant, middle grade and junior medical staff study leave and teaching sessions and ensure locum cover in place for sickness absence when required.
Responsible for administration and coordination of all aspects of induction. Arrange for completion of local induction. Checklists for short term locums.
Production of Information Packs for all junior doctors rotating into the Directorate six weeks before arrival at the department.
Review working arrangements for STR's, CT1/2/F2s, with a view to New Deal and European Working Time Directives compliance.
Ensure arrangements are set correctly in place for all our juniors to be monitored; ensure they complete the monitoring forms on a daily basis and chase them up and ensure they are forwarded to our Compliance Manager (Medical Education) within the time limit that they were originally given.
Responsibilities: Implementing policies within medical staffing.
Finance: Strategically and operationally manage locums effectively and economically and authorise all locum time sheets and payments. Provide Accountant with up to date information on a monthly basis regarding the use of locum cover, additional duty hours worked, completing bank staffing payment sheets and ACAS form for LUHFT staff and Lead Employer staff, matching costs up to panel forms that have been submitted so that no inappropriate charges are made against the Directorate.
Signatory for medical staffing budget including Associate Specialist/STR/CT/F2 locum doctors.
Recruitment: As necessary update Job Descriptions and timetables for junior medical staff.
In partnership with Clinical Director and Clinical Director (St Pauls Division), produce Job Descriptions for new Consultant/Staff Grade/Clinical Fellows posts. Completing Vacancy Control.
Forms/Change Notices: arrange for posts to be advertised and liaise with HR Department for interview arrangements in role of Recruiting Manager.
Arrange and manage Observer appointments for students as required and provide information packs for same. Arrange accommodation, if required. HR and Occupational Health Department (to arrange medical screening) and Volunteers Department (to arrange insurance).
Responsible to arrange and manage "Honorary Contracts" for junior doctors, consultants and other medical staff as required including accommodation booking for overseas doctors.
To support in the implementation of all medical staffing issues. To communicate across all levels of grades both internally and with external stakeholders on a daily basis.
