Job Overview

Working Part time: 35 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Geriatric Medicine Secretarial Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital. You will contribute and commit to promoting a positive team‑based attitude, striving for the highest standards of service in order to deliver excellent secretarial support to the Department, being accountable to the Assistant Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote a positive team‑based attitude and lead the secretarial team to deliver excellent support to the Department and Management Team.
  2. Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgement and using your own initiative.
  3. Maintain an excellent level of Data Quality when dealing with confidential information in a sensitive manner.
  4. Ensure awareness of patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
Locations
  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds.
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
Recruitment and DBS

Recruitment selection processes are based on competence (see Person Specification) and values. Applicants are required to pay for their DBS check; costs will be deducted from their salary over the first three months of employment. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above. If a large number of applications are received, the vacancy may be closed prior to the advertised date.

If the role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020, a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required. Enhanced DBS check applications that are submitted with omitted or incorrect information will be withdrawn.
