A leading healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Medical Secretary to support the Pathology team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The candidate will be responsible for typing pathology reports, managing telephone inquiries, and taking minutes at meetings. Applicants must possess an HNC in Secretarial Studies or equivalent, along with advanced keyboard and audio typing skills. This position requires on-site work only, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde are looking for a Medical Secretary to join the Pathology administration and clerical team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Reporting to the Office Manager, the post holder will type pathology and post mortem reports, deal with telephone enquiries for consultants and/or associated clinical staff, relaying the required information, and book andrology appointments over the phone. The post holder will also take minutes at department meetings in the absence of the Deputy Office Manager and send blocks and slides to other laboratories for opinion or as part of a clinical trial. Applicants must have a HNC in Secretarial Studies/Business administration or equivalent demonstrable knowledge, advanced keyboard skills, audio typing experience, and knowledge of medical terminology. Experience of minute taking is also required. This role does not allow for home working, due to the nature of the tasks involved and the systems used.
