Job description

Position Overview

This post is open to employees of the five LAASP organisations. As part of your application, you will be asked to confirm that you are a current employee of The Clatterbridge Centre, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital or, The Walton Centre.

The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the consultants and the wider team of the Emergency Department Department. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision, using their own initiative, and will carry out the duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation. NHS experience not essential as full training will be given but it is expected the candidate would have office/typing experience.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe (audio typing) letters on behalf of the clinical team and arrange appropriate follow up arrangements.
• Manage the creation, reduction and cancellation of clinic templates on behalf of clinicians.
• Liaise with all service users (patients, GPs, other Trusts) via the telephone and email, relaying messages to clinicians and responding to queries in a timely manner.
• Manage and maintain 18‑week pathways including tertiary referrals to external trusts and ensure these are accurately recorded on the PAS system. Keep track of referrals to ensure patients are reviewed promptly and check that follow‑up appointments are arranged in conjunction with the Referral to Treat (RTT) patient pathway.
• Carry out other general administration duties relevant to the role as listed in the job description.
