A healthcare organization in Birmingham is seeking a part-time Medical Secretary to manage referrals and support GPs with administrative tasks. Modality Partnership Walsall Division has a part‑time vacancy for a Medical Secretary. The postholder will be a high performing administrator who will work to ensure referrals are sent out in a timely manner working the Modality Walsall Partnership providing a referral service for GPs who need to refer patients onto secondary care. The role is an all‑rounded, hands‑on referral administration role; the postholder will need to confidently evidence and utilise key skills such as effective communication, time management, diary management, and the ability to prioritise referrals and their different urgencies across the Division and the wider organisation. The postholder will work in collaboration with local divisions (including Divisional Boards) and the National Modality Business Support Team to deliver innovative ways of working to meet the strategic aims of the organisation.
The role is not a regular 9am‑5pm job and is not a pure typing secretarial role; the job requires innovation, flexibility, and commitment and the postholder will be required to work resourcefully as part of the team to ensure tasks are completed.
