A leading NHS Trust in Manchester is seeking a Medical Secretary/Administrator to support the Palliative Care Team. Responsibilities include managing queries, organizing meetings, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, strong typing skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Palliative Care Team as a Medical Secretary/Administrator.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills, strong typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology to ensure provision of a high‑quality and efficient administrative/secretarial service to the palliative medicine consultants and the clinical nurse specialist team.
You must have good attention to detail together with the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. Duties will include dealing with telephone enquiries, letters, email, diaries, chasing deadlines, collation of information/results for reports and typing of clinic letters.
You should have previous secretarial experience as well as being flexible and able to work as part of a team. In return we will provide a comprehensive induction with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
The post holder will provide medical transcription and administrative support on attachment to clinical teams; guided by standard operating procedures.
