This role provides a comprehensive and efficient medical secretarial and administrative service within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department, supporting designated Consultants and the wider clinical team. It involves managing correspondence, patient records, and clinical documentation accurately and promptly, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment are essential. The post holder will work collaboratively with the secretarial team and liaise effectively with clinical and administrative colleagues to support patient care and departmental objectives.

The post holder will provide a full range of secretarial and administrative support to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Duties include typing clinical correspondence, managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records. You will act as the first point of contact for Consultants and their teams, handle telephone queries, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves supporting clinic changes, processing documentation promptly, and ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of work. Flexibility to provide cover for colleagues and participate in training is essential.
