A local medical practice seeks a part-time Medical Secretary for 15 hours/week to support GP partners and clinical teams. Responsibilities include audio typing of referrals and handling patient queries. Applicants should have prior secretarial experience and strong communication skills. The role offers a chance to work in a supportive environment in Plymouth.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our MedicalSecretary Team on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week. The working patternis a Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
You will work as part of the MedicalSecretary Team dealing with all aspects of referrals and sending viae-referral, Tasks and rejected referrals.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of working in the secretarial role.
Is friendly, polite and confident.
Can communicate effectively and has good interpersonalskills.

Has the ability to work accurately under pressure.
Toprovide a full and efficient administrative service to GP partners and clinicalteams. This will include audio typing of referrals, completion of tasks,responding to queries from patients/clinicians/third parties and facilitatingelectronic referrals.
Ensure that two wait referrals havebeen sent, processed and that the patient has been seen
Tobe a point of contact for patients either face to face, by email/letter ortext, answering queries regarding referrals.
Provideadministration support to clinicians and other members of the team.
We are a successful and cohesiveteam of 2 GP partners, 5 salaried GP and 4 prescribing ANPs with 10,500patients. We also have an experiencedpharmacist, pharmacy technician, extended scope physiotherapist, an activesocial prescriber and a bereavement advisor.All supported by a growing administrative team providing support inalleviating the administrative tasks of general practice.
We are situated East of Plymouthin Plymstock so perfectly situated to explore both Dartmoor and the sea and thearea feeds into excellent primary and secondary schools.

Awarenessof practice policies and procedures with the confidence to make reasonableadjustments to meet the needs of individuals.
Provideadministration support to clinicians and other members of the team.
Ensurepatient encounters are recorded accurately on clinical systems.
Monitorand respond to emails into the surgery.
MonitorLexacom to ensure referrals are typed and sent efficiently.
Monitortasks, results, emails and referrals, following up queries and ensuringpatients are kept informed of relevant results and treatment pathways.
Checkthe e-referral platform for the advice & guidance, assessment &rejections.
Preparethe agenda and attend the clinical meetings once a month and take detailed and accurate minutes.
Ensureyour work area is safe and free of adverse risk to health.
Ensureall information is secure and confidentiality of information is alwaysmaintained.
Keep up to date with DRSS andreferral services processes, and update SystmOne with new referral templates.
Have up to date knowledge ofcomputer systems, which includes the Devon Formulary guidance.
Support with the invitations ofpre-diabetic, q-risk, CKD 3 and hypertension.
A review of the weekly GP Bulletinto make sure any DRRS or formulary updates are reflected on the clinical systemand always kept up to date.
