Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and direct them to their appointments.

Medical Receptionist / Administrator

The Successful post holder is to be a first point of contact at a busy reception, where they will greet patients, staff, service users. The postholder will be involved in the day to day running of the reception ensuring that patients are directed to their appointments in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

The Successful Candidate will work in Widnes HCRCas part of our busy Reception Team

Ensuring Patients arrived onsystems in a timely manner, referrals are actioned promptly, appointmentsbooked as appropriate. Accurate, timely admin support to be provided to clinicians.

Transactions and payments taken for Prescriptions both by card or cash and this is to be collated at the end of each day. Fire warden responsibilities

Job responsibilities

The Successful Candidate will work on the main reception desk, where patients arrive for their appointments for all departments within Widnes UTC. Duties will include arriving

patients on the booking system, booking/amending appointments, booking follow up appointments. Answering Emails, dealing with daily tasks and queries, liaising with patients and clinicians both face to face and over the telephone.

They will also cover the general duties of a busy reception. This can be a challenging role at times.

The reception team is a busy department which would suit a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to take and produce meeting notes
  • Diary maintenance both electronic and manual.

  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and extract relevant information and report and act on appropriately.
Experience
  • Working within a customer facing environment.
  • Minimal two years experience in an administrative role.
  • Ability to work to and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a pressured environment
  • Experience of working in a clinic/ office environment.
  • Medical Secretarial experience.
  • Previous experience of working within the health or social sector.
  • Previous experience of using an appointment booking system.
  • Previous experience of supervising staff including the carrying out of Personal Development reviews.
Qualifications
  • 4 GCSEs at grade C or above to include Maths and English or Key Skills equivalents.
  • RSA Level III in typing or equivalent.
  • ECDL or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care
