• Book, amend, and cancel patient appointments.
• Deal with patient queries and related communications.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas.
• Stay up to date with mandatory training.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors to the practice.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented (where required) and redirected accordingly.
• Book, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice appointment procedures ensuring optimum efficiency of the appointment system.
• Deal with patient queries which may include calling hospital for copy of letters, lab reports or related.
• Ensure all tasks sent by GPs and admin staff are dealt on a timely basis.
• Ensure clinical rooms, reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy and also equipped with hand towels.
• Keep up to date with mandatory trainings.
• Re‑stock information leaflets or any other relevant information as appropriate.
• Check emails on a daily basis. Also regularly check practice general emails.
• Work safely at all times in accordance with GDPR legislative requirements and practice policy and procedures.

About the Practice

We are a large forward‑thinking practice of 15,000 patients, providing quality healthcare and outcomes for our patients in the North Trafford area. We operate from two sites: Chester Road and Seymour Grove.

We are looking for the right candidate to join as Medical Receptionist in our team. Our practice has been rated as Good by the CQC and we take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. We are part of North Trafford Primary Care Network, one of the partners is the Clinical Director. We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide a digital platform to our patients.
