The postholder produces clinical images for patient records, diagnosis, treatment planning, teaching, research and medico-legal purposes, managing consent and confidential image data throughout. It stands out for its mix of settings, from theatres and emergency departments to studios, plus teledermatology and newborn photography for a new service. Fit depends on a photography or digital imaging qualification or an equivalent portfolio.

What the job involves

• Deliver clinical and scientific photography across varied clinical settings and Trust sites, working flexibly
• Produce high-quality clinical images for patient care, diagnosis, treatment, education, research and medico-legal needs
• Apply specialist photographic techniques and image processing to ensure clinical accuracy and consistency
• Respond to urgent and complex photography requests while prioritising workloadManage clinical images, patient data and digital records to professional, legal and Trust standards
• Obtain and manage informed patient consent, complying with information governance and confidentiality
• Provide a compassionate, patient-centred service, including in sensitive and distressing situations
• Take part in teledermatology and specialist imaging activities
• Take part in newborn photography for a new service
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and new technologies
• Build working relationships with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain technical competency and take part in CPD and departmental training

Qualifications

• BA/BSc or other qualification in Photography, Digital Imaging, Media Production, Graphic Design or a related discipline, or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent knowledge and experience
