A regional healthcare provider in Blackburn is seeking a motivated individual to join its MEO team. In this role, you will support medical examiners in scrutinising death circumstances while interacting with bereaved families and healthcare staff. Ideal candidates possess strong medical terminology knowledge, collaborative skills, and a compassionate approach to care. This position offers both full-time and part-time options to accommodate varied candidates.
We have 2 opportunities within our MEO team; one full time (37.5 hours) and one part time (25.5 hours). Please ensure your application is clear as to which post you are applying for. The candidate we are seeking will be a highly motivated, dedicated and innovative individual, working alongside the Medical Examiners to scrutinise all deaths at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. You will demonstrate excellent knowledge of medical terminology as you review patient notes, along with previous experience of working with bereaved relatives in any setting. You will be working collaboratively with a wide range of staff, in addition to being confident in working under your own initiative to prioritise your workload accordingly. Demonstrating natural curiosity and empathy you will support the Medical Examiners in their role of scrutinising the circumstances and causes of death for our patients.
