Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) seeks an exceptional Medical Director to provide strategic medical leadership for its practice provision, citywide services, research, workforce and quality improvement programmes in Nottingham.
The role builds on an established Medical Directorate with responsibilities across clinical governance and system leadership, preparing the organisation for neighbourhood health models and improved patient outcomes.
Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) is seeking an exceptional clinical leader to become our next Medical Director. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of General Practice across Nottingham, providing strategic medical leadership for our practice provision, citywide services, research, workforce and quality improvement programmes. The role builds on an established Medical Directorate with responsibilities across clinical governance, patient safety, research, education, service development and system leadership.
This is a pivotal moment to join us. General Practice is moving into neighbourhood health, and NCGPA is at the centre of that change in Nottingham City, one of the first-wave sites of the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme. Our next Medical Director will help get NCGPA ready for that change, support our membership through it, and build a clinical culture that serves Nottingham's diverse communities well.
As Medical Director, you will be the principal clinical adviser to the Board, providing visible leadership and assurance across NCGPA services. You will work closely with Clinical Leads, senior managers, General Practices, Primary Care Networks and wider NHS partners to ensure services are safe, effective, innovative and sustainable. You will also be an ambassador for clinical care in Nottingham General Practice, for our membership as well as our own services.
We are looking for a respected and inspirational clinician who can build partnerships, influence change and maintain a clear focus on quality, safety and patient outcomes. You will bring energy for transformation and a clear sense of how clinical leadership can take Nottingham General Practice into the future.
Formed in 2016, NCGPA is a vibrant GP federation supporting over 30 practices across Nottingham, serving more than 400,000 patients.
We champion collaboration, resilience, and innovation in general practice, sharing expertise and resources to help our teams thrive. From our city-centre hub, we run practices, support PCN teams, and deliver city-wide services.
Our mission is rooted in person-centred care, tackling health inequalities, and nurturing a sustainable workforce. With a caring ethos and ambitious vision, we're proud to support Nottingham's diverse communities and create a brighter future for primary care.
