Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is assisting a south Cambridgeshire client in recruiting a hands-on Test Technician to join the laboratory team working on medical and drug delivery devices.

The role involves carrying out mechanical and functional testing, data recording, and using a range of test equipment and bespoke rigs. It offers a permanent position in Cambridge with 37 hours a week and a salary of £25k–£30k, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory or technical testing experience.
• Accurate test data recording.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ideally, experience within a medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated environment.
• Practical, methodical and detail-focused approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to manage changing priorities and learn new technical skills.
• A relevant degree or equivalent experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and functional testing, including environmental conditioning, inspections and physical measurements
• Follow test methods, protocols, SOPs and work instructions
• Accurately record test data and results
• Use a range of test equipment, bespoke rigs and laboratory systems
• Handle chemicals and pharmaceutical formulations safely
• Support project teams in delivering testing milestones
