Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited in Cambridge seeks an engineering leader to guide high-value development programmes from concept through transfer to manufacture. You will accelerate timelines, manage risk, and deliver results that improve patient outcomes.

Job description

Balance technical, regulatory and commercial challenges in this fulfilling role. This highly regraded Cambridge-based medical technologies company is seeking a proven engineering leader to help guide high-value development programmes from concept through to transfer to manufacture. Your leadership will accelerate development timelines, manage risk and deliver results that tangibly improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex development programmes for medical devices, especially drug delivery systems such as injectables, infusion pumps, microcatheters, and active implants, from concept through to manufacture.
  • Oversee the entire development lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercial viability.
  • Provide strategic direction and identify new commercial opportunities within the drug delivery market.
  • Mentor, coach, and empower cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality results.
  • Represent the company at international meetings and foster relationships with clients, investors, manufacturing and production partners.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of leading complex development programmes for medical devices, ideally in drug delivery.
  • Strong hands‑on engineering background in the medical sector encompassing mechanical and systems engineering from initial concept through to manufacture.
  • Good general understanding of the drug delivery market, including regulatory requirements and commercial demands.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to travel internationally.
