Job summary

A healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a proactive Medical Appraisal & Revalidation Manager. You will lead and manage medical appraisal and revalidation processes to ensure compliance with GMC requirements while supporting the strategic direction of the Trust. The role involves collaborating with medical and clinical directors, developing effective processes, and training clinicians. A degree-level qualification and experience in an NHS setting are essential. This position offers a salary range of £39,263 to £47,280 per annum pro rata.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of medical appraisal and revalidation, working closely with Medical Directors, Clinical Directors, and Workforce colleagues.
  • Advise on complex issues as a specialist resource for appraisal, revalidation, and GMC licensing.
  • Develop and monitor effective processes and systems for appraisal and revalidation.
  • Maintain local information systems (MARS, ESR) and facilitate communication and reporting.
  • Support and train clinicians and managers on appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • Represent the Trust at internal and external meetings.
  • Lead service improvement initiatives and policy development.
  • Ensure compliance through systematic audits, reviews, and exception reporting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practice sharing across the organisation.
  • Uphold confidentiality and promote open communication and teamwork.

Qualifications and Knowledge
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent professional qualification or willingness to complete.
