Job Purpose

Our Global Skin Care R&D Center is looking for a Medical Affairs Scientist to join our team to help develop the dermatologist/medical landscape within our Beauty & Wellbeing sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a role designed to join the team in creating the Medical Excellence and E&A (Expertise and Authorities) strategy for Global brands and execute them in full to allow the maximum reach of our brands into the dermatologist and relevant medical networks.

You will be the R&D interface with the Marketing teams and other non‑R&D functions. In this role, you will plan, direct, and be responsible for establishing the Dermatologist network across the globe and creating the Medical marketing content together with the R&D Design team, marketing team, creative agencies and executing them. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum integration with Regional/Business Unit R&D teams for all the Skin Care brands and the roll out of the medical marketing program for the region.

Responsibilities
  • Key activities including conference/tradeshow organization, publication strategy creation, healthcare communications generation such as HCP facing scientific newsletter, advisory board planning and execution.
  • Summarizing clinical trials and scientific published information in an easy digestible manner for healthcare professionals.
  • Lead Skin Care R&D to participate in various Conferences, Medical programs to showcase the depth of Unilever technologies and how these have been integrated into our products to address the consumer need gaps. Understand the scientific information desired to be presented by brands, assist in scientific information dissemination, and create the overall B&W scientific story for the event.
  • Create Healthcare professional facing content based on our studies, claims and insights, skin biology, product technology, for multiple brands in global and local markets that will excite the Dermatologists and Medical associations.
  • Be the point of Contact between R&D, Marketing, Creative agencies and the Dermatologist association to plan and execute for the Medical Marketing program.
  • Establish relationships with Dermatologist network, Key Opinion Leaders, Medical associations, Media agency, consumer market research agencies and academia, including mapping and engagement, with face‑to‑face interaction.
  • Put together the Medical Marketing and E&A calendar for the Skin Care category by working closely with the R&D, Marketing and other non‑R&D functions.
  • Strengthen relationship and engagement with internal teams: R&D formulation, Regional R&D teams, Marketing, U‑studio, Science & Technology, Regulatory, Legal, etc. Work closely with the digital R&D team to create new initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Regional R&D and brand teams to understand the region‑specific priorities, consumer needs, trends, and design content accordingly.
  • Creativity is a must; assist in strategizing what B&W Unilever can do to be memorable!
All About You
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in science with 1‑2 years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Medical excellence, Medical Marketing, Medical Science Liaison, medical event planner or Healthcare Sales Rep.
  • Background in Skin Care or skin biology is a huge plus.
  • Additional experience in healthcare professional engagement and/or Formulation Design/Development and/or CTI/Claims (Consumer research, Claims and Communication Development).
  • Working knowledge of technologies, Clinical methods, how to design claims and communication content.
