The Medical Advisor UK/Ireland holds primary responsibility within the countries for the development and execution of the migraine Medical Affairs Plan under the guidance and supervision of the Therapeutic Area Lead CNS. Additionally, the Medical Advisor provides Medical Affairs therapeutic area support through engaging with Scientific Leaders (SLs) / Key Decision Makers (KDMs), driving scientific initiatives and supporting the field force. The Medical Advisor reports to the Therapeutic Area Lead CNS., Scientific and Technical Leadership
Responsibilities
- Ensure execution of agreed medical tactics and leverage best practices.
- Communicate scientific therapy needs credibly, appropriately, and effectively across a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Build trust with the external scientific community via peer-to-peer scientific exchange, research and educational collaborations, interactions with scientific societies and health organisations, publications, etc.
- Provide therapeutic/functional training to assigned teams and affiliate functions.
- Develop and help execute country medical educational programs and symposia.
- Lead Expert Input Forums in line with strategy.
- Participate in and contribute significantly to professional organizations, academic or regulatory working teams.
- Provide scientific inputs for digital initiatives.
Medical Strategy and Therapy Leadership
- Translate Global Medical Strategies into research, data analysis, scientific communication, educational, and other tactics and solutions that improve patient outcomes and enhance access in the countries.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between field and Medical through providing scientific and medical support to the Commercial team.
- Evaluate accuracy of promotional materials.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate actionable insights at the country level.
- Successfully collaborate, provide scientific inputs, and lead resolution of Regulatory queries/issues.
- Support execution of and quickly adapt tactical plans to business realities in the country.
- Act with ethics and integrity; provide non-promotional, balanced, reliable and scientific information.
- Support with therapy training content for Sales team.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, specifically related to asset value proposition, and clinical and value evidence.
Qualifications
- MD, PhD in health sciences, Pharm D or equivalent.
- Minimum two years' experience as Medical Advisor or equivalent.
- Experience of relevant pharmaceutical industry guidelines (ABPI Code of Practice), regulatory / reimbursement framework and clinical research guidelines.
- Scientific knowledge and experience within neurology/migraine is preferred.
- Strategic thinking.
- Knowledge and experience of the ABPI Code of Practice essential.
Additional Information
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global pharmaceutical organisation based in Shoreditch. You are required to work 37.5 hours per week and our client offers the option of hybrid working (1-2 days pw onsite in London). This role will cover UK and Ireland so there will be some travel between UK and Ireland - approximately 1 to 3 times a year. The position is a temporary contract role to start in January 2026 initially for 12 months with a possible extension and offers an hourly rate of £29.49 - £50.26 (£57,500 - £98,000 FTE per annum) depending on experience.
