Join the Marketing and Communications team at Dementia UK in this exciting role, supporting the smooth running of our press office.

As our Media and PR Executive, your role will cover media monitoring, proactive and reactive PR activity, and key administrative tasks, all contributing to our mission of raising awareness and understanding of Dementia UK and the vital work of our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses.

You will manage reactive media enquiries, coordinating interviews with spokespeople and senior team members, and oversee the press office inbox and phone alongside other members of the team. You’ll also support proactive media generation by pitching story ideas, building journalist relationships and managing PR for regional Admiral Nurse service launches.

Working sensitively with families, you’ll help share their stories with the media, develop media plans, and secure coverage. You’ll also brief spokespeople, monitor emerging issues and report on media activity. Additional responsibilities include proofreading and writing press materials, supporting our celebrity ambassador and social media influencer activity, and acting as a friendly point of contact across the charity.

To succeed in this role, you will have strong media knowledge, excellent communication skills and proven experience in proof reading and editing.
