Job Title: Media and Content Manager

Department: Corporate Affairs

Reporting to: Head of Corporate Affairs

Grade: 5

Salary: £57,848 per annum

Contract Type: 2 Years Fixed Term Contract

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Base: London or Gravesend

Closing date: 2nd November 2025

Key responsibilities
  • Management of relationships with key media, with a particular focus on regional and sector specific journalists.
  • Proactively generating positive coverage, working with the media to connect diverse audiences and key stakeholders with PLA business priorities and Thames Vision goals
  • Delivering effective media campaigns and activations to build the PLA’s reach and reputation
  • Lead production of our Tidal Thames News – regular newsletter sent to c5,000 stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of media activity/mentions, evaluation of reach, regular reporting
  • Part of the out-of-hours on-call rota for monitoring media enquiries
  • A key part of a crisis and/or business continuity response, using effective media relationships to manage reputational risk
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience of designing and delivering effective media campaigns, with knowledge of evaluation methodologies or approaches
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with journalists
  • Experience of crisis or reputation management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of briefing/supporting senior leaders with external communications
  • Good attention to detail
  • Brings enthusiasm, creativity and can-do to work!
