Salary: Competitive

Location: Millwall Football Club Training Ground, Calmont Road, Bromley, BR1 4BY / The Den, John Berylson Way, Bermondsey, London, SE16 3LN

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (including home, away, and midweek, First Team fixtures and some U21 fixtures)

About us

Established in 1885, Millwall Football Club is one of the most famous football clubs in England. Currently competing in the EFL Championship, they play their home games at The Den, which is based in South Bermondsey, and has been the home of the Club since 1994.

Role Overview

The Media & Communications Executive will play a central role in delivering the club’s media and communications output across all platforms. The successful candidate will plan, create, and publish high-quality content, support strategic communications, assist with day‑to‑day media operations, and enhance the club’s overall public image. This role also supports matchday media activities and press operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of messaging to fans, media, stakeholders, players, and staff.

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role suited to a proactive, detail‑oriented individual with strong creative instincts and a passion for football. It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their media or communications career who is eager to develop a broad skillset across content creation, media relations, and football communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, creating, and distributing content for Millwall’s website and social media channels.
  • Conduct interviews with players, coaching staff, and club personnel for both First Team and Academy coverage.
  • Support press operations, including press releases, media accreditation, and journalist liaison.
  • Assist in matchday media activities, including live updates, video content, and post‑match interviews.
  • Collaborate with departments to share important updates to fans and stakeholders.
  • Help monitor media coverage and track the club’s reputation in both traditional and digital media.
  • Assist with content team for club events and matchdays.
  • Support media operations for Academy matches, events, and player announcements.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with emerging trends in sports media and digital communications to enhance the club’s presence.
Essential Requirements / Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct interviews confidently and professionally.
  • Understanding of press operations and media relations.
  • Knowledge of social media channels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and matchdays.
  • Passion for football and understanding of the sports media landscape.
Desired Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience editing graphics and videos.
  • Previous experience working at a football club.
  • Valid UK driving license.
