Job summary

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking experienced Electrical and Mechanical Project Engineers to support AMP8 projects across Southern Water and Affinity Water frameworks. Ideal candidates will have experience in the water industry, a relevant qualification, and strong problem-solving skills. This is a long-term contract role with a pay rate of £450 per day.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Project Engineer, ideally within the water industry.
  • Qualified to at least HNC/HND or Degree level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of AMP project delivery and WIMES standards.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - required for Electrical Engineers.
  • ECS or CSCS card - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical or mechanical engineering elements of infrastructure projects.
  • Review and interpret technical designs per client specifications.
  • Coordinate between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers for timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support site inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

Job Overview

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking experienced Electrical and Mechanical Project Engineers to support the delivery of AMP8 projects across Southern Water and Affinity Water frameworks. These are long-term contract roles ideal for engineers with solid backgrounds in the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee either electrical or mechanical engineering elements of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Review and interpret technical designs, ensuring alignment with client specifications and water industry standards.
  • Coordinate between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and compliant delivery of all works.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support site inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover processes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Project Engineer, ideally within the water industry or similar sectors.
  • Qualified to at least HNC/HND or Degree level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
