Job summary

CCL Global is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support a major engineering programme in Oxfordshire. The role covers mechanical installation and maintenance during planned shutdowns across vacuum, cooling, pressurised and electro-mechanical systems.

You will work onsite, supervise fitters and contractors when required, and prepare Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements and Risk Assessments. A strong background in industrial mechanical engineering and safety compliance is

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in industrial mechanical engineering environment.
• Strong assembly, installation and maintenance experience.
• Experience with Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
• Ability to work independently in a safety-critical environment.
• Experience supervising fitters or contractors would be beneficial.
• Understanding of modern manufacturing and maintenance techniques.
• Experience with vacuum, cooling, pressurised systems or related equipment and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, improvements and modifications across complex plant and equipment.
• Support major installation programmes, shutdowns and planned interventions.
• Carry out mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair.
• Support vacuum, cooling, pressurised and electro-mechanical systems.
• Assist with large-scale engineering activities including in-vessel works, cooling systems and circuits.
• Prepare documentation and procedures for installation, maintenance and testing.
• Compile work packages, Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Provide technical support to responsible plant personnel.
• Supervise mechanical fitters, contractors and junior craft personnel.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and professionalism.
• Ensure work is undertaken per procedures, regulatory requirements and CDM 2015.

Mechanical Technician

CCL Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Technician to support a major engineering programme within a complex, safety-critical environment in Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will primarily support mechanical installation and maintenance activities during planned shutdowns, working across a range of vacuum, cooling, pressurised and electro-mechanical systems. The role will involve both the construction of new systems and maintenance, fault finding and repair of existing plant and equipment.

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire
Contract: 12 Months Inside IR35 Renewable.
Working Pattern: Full-time onsite
Security Clearance: BPSS

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, improvements and modifications across complex plant and equipment.

Requirements

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Practical experience within an industrial mechanical engineering environment.
• Strong mechanical assembly, installation and maintenance experience.
• Experience working under Written Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Ability to work independently within a complex and safety-critical environment.
• Experience supervising fitters, contractors or other craft personnel would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of modern manufacturing and maintenance techniques.
• Experience with vacuum systems, cooling systems, pressurised systems or complex scientific/industrial equipment would be advantageous, as would a good understanding of electrical systems and previous experience supporting major shutdown or installation programmes.
