Job Description

The Resolute Group is proud to partner with an international Engineering and Design Consultancy to support the continued growth of their Building Services division. With a strong project pipeline within the data centre sector, this role offers the chance to lead from the front as the Technical Director (Mechanical), shaping design standards, mentoring a high-performing team, and influencing project delivery at the highest level.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical engineering discipline on major projects, providing technical direction and ensuring best-in-class design delivery.
  • Oversee the development of mechanical systems designs, including cooling, ventilation, and HVAC solutions for large-scale data centre environments.
  • Work closely with electrical and structural counterparts to ensure fully coordinated MEP solutions within BIM/Revit environments.
  • Act as the technical authority for the mechanical discipline, conducting design reviews and approving technical outputs.
  • Provide strategic leadership on project planning, resource allocation, and quality assurance across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support business growth by contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations, ensuring designs align with commercial objectives.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, sustainability initiatives, and digital design advancements to keep the company at the forefront of innovation.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience leading mechanical design teams within the building services or data centre sector.
  • Proven technical expertise in mechanical systems design for mission-critical or large commercial projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of BIM/Revit and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
